... Master of Library and Information Science graduated colorfully

8,861 Graduands were conferred with Degrees and awarded Diplomas during the 54th graduation ceremony on December 4, 2015. 14 Graduands of Master of Library and Information Science graduated colorfully in a ceremony that was graced by the Chancellor, Dr. Vijoo Rattansi.

While delivering her speech, the Chancellor lauded the graduands for their effort saying “After several years of painstaking study and diligent research, today you don the black academic gown and a hood,” she said. “In the face of many challenges, you have stayed the course. You have attained scholarly achievement and justified all we looked for when calling you to the great commission of knowledge advancement. Today is the day to refresh, in your hearts and minds, the dream for a beautiful and wonderful future.”

The VC Prof. Peter Mbithi on his part congratulated the graduands saying “Today you leave our gates and head out into the world. We have prepared you as best as we could. Only one thing will I therefore beseech thee my graduands, to heed the wisdom of Lao Tzu thus;

“I have three precious things which I hold fast and prize. The first is gentleness, the second is frugality and the third is humility which keeps me from putting myself before others. Be gentle and you can be bold; be frugal and you can be liberal; avoid putting yourself before others and you can become a leader among men”.

The Head of Department, Library and Information Science, Dr. Dorothy Njiraine, together with Dr. Elisha Makori, staff members, partners and sponsors take this happy opportunity to thank the graduands for the co-operation and commitment that made all of us achieve amazing results.
