Head of Department, Library and Information Science Dr. Dorothy Njiraine with the first cohort of the Master of Library and Information Science in a remarkable photo session during the 52 Congregation of the University of Nairobi held on Friday, December 5, 2014. For the Department of Library and Information Science, University Library, lecturers, staff, students’ fraternity and friends, Christmas has come early with the graduation of the first cohort who joined the programme in January 2013.

During this auspicious occasion of the Class of December 2014, 15 graduands were conferred with the Master of Library and Information Science degree. Congratulations to the graduands for this far you have not only made us proud but also proved that the University of Nairobi is truly a world-class university committed to scholarly excellence. To the graduands you are our knowledge ambassadors.

Dr. Njiraine thanked and wished the graduands a prosperous career in the information profession. As the Head of Department, she takes the opportunity to thank all of you for your continued support and look forward to working together as a team. Indeed, this a milestone in the discipline and profession as the Department aims at responding and meeting the diverse information needs of the country and the global community. We thank the lecturers, staff, students and friends for your individual and collective contribution in enabling the Department achieve this noble goal.
