College of Humanities and Social Sciences (CHSS) Principal, Prof. Enos Njeru has officially welcomed first year’s students to the University.
In an official address to the new students at 8-4-4 Multi-purpose hall on 7th January, Prof. Njeru congratulated the freshmen and women on their admission to the university. “For your hard work and determination, you deserved a place in this world class university.”
The more than 500 new students had packed up the 8-4-4 lecture hall and keenly followed the proceedings of the events. CHSS was the last of the six colleges to admit the 2014 government sponsored students to the university. The other colleges earlier admitted students in September, 2014.
Prof. Njeru’s address to the new students at the main campus had been preceded by his speeches to the Parklands and Lower Kabete’s campuses freshmen and women as well. The principal urged the students work hard and embrace virtues that would be core to their development. He also urged the students to be disciplined and free to learn and share their knowledge with the entire university community.
Others present during the event included Deputy Pincipal (CHSS), Prof. K’Obonyo, College Registrar, Dr. Obosi and Faculty of Arts dean, Prof. Chitere among other senior managers and staff from the college.
