The Faculty of Arts has welcomed 1,800 first year students for the Academic Calendar 2021/2022. The first years reported on Monday, September 20, 2021.

The students will be taken through orientation the whole week. The orientation will be to a large extent Faculty-based. Thus, students will be exposed in detail to the facilities in the respective Faculty and in general to those of the entire University.

The orientation will acquaint the students with the University policies and procedures, help the students adjust to the new life at the university, introduce the students to senior officials of the university, familiarize the students with the facilities and amenities available in the university, which include libraries, lecture theatres, laboratories, bookstore, welfare facilities such as medical, counseling, disability, accommodation, catering, sports and games and chaplaincy, social activities, clubs and societies.

The highlight of the orientation week is the address by University officials and the final address by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Stephen Kiama, on Wednesday, September 22, 2021, which all freshers are expected to attend.

The ICT Department will take all the first years through a week long training on how to use the virtual platforms for learning and accessing university services from Monday, September 27, 2021.

The University congratulates and welcomes all the students who have been selected for various degree programmes at this premier university.
